About the Show
Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps, a fast-paced light-hearted whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre!
The setting is London in the late thirties. War is in the air, and there’s a Nazi spy around every corner.
Debonaire man-about-town Richard Hannay is enjoying a night of theatre when all hell breaks loose. Shots are fired, and a mysterious woman with a German accent pleads for his protection. She tells him about a shadowy organization called “The 39 Steps,” and about a plot to steal a vital military secret.
But before Hannay can learn more, the woman is murdered in his own apartment – and he finds himself on the run from both the police and The 39 Steps.
Non-stop action – and laughs – follow, with over 150 zany characters, train-chases, plane-crashes, shootings, narrow escapes and some good old-fashioned romance.
The 39 Steps is Broadway’s longest-running comedy, and a two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winner. It celebrated its 500th performance on Broadway May 19th, 2009.

what a fabulous way to count the tense days to opening night.
